The Catskill Center for Independence is one of New York State's 40 independent living centers.
Founded in 1987, the Catskill Center for Independence (CCFI) is a not-for-profit New York State corporation whose primary purpose is the development and implementation of programs and services promoting and facilitating independence in everyday living for persons with a disabling condition.
The Center's philosophy is to provide the individual with opportunities to develop the skills and resources necessary for the attainment of living as independently as possible in the community.
The Center offers a number of direct services to its consumers including benefits advisement, employment readiness, employment assistance, independent living skills training, assistance in securing housing, transportation, education, accommodations, service coordination, transition services to students with disabilities exiting high school, and transition services to institutionalized individuals who wish to live in the community.
